Some current projects include upgrading major sewer trunk lines downtown, expanding the wastewater treatment plant, and adding new storm drainage tunnels and detention basins across the city to prevent flooding.
Protecting groundwater and enhancing stormwater management are top priorities as the population increases. Cedar City works proactively to coordinate these underground utility improvements with other public and private construction projects for efficiency.
